Alagumgube Appeals for Sports Stadium in Upper East Region

His Excellency President John Mahama has confirmed plans to construct sports stadiums in regions without facilities. Designs are underway, and three stadiums are slated for construction this year, as per the budget. Alagumgube, a developmental organization founded in the USA with branches across Ghana and the diaspora, is urging the President and Sports Minister to prioritize the Upper East Region (UER) as one of the three beneficiaries.

Mr. Gabriel Agambila, Founder of Alagumgube, emphasizes the region's lack of a sports stadium since its creation and requests that the design includes an athletic track, basketball court, volleyball court, and a boxing arena, similar to Bukom in Accra, to harness the region's abundant talents.

Alagumgube commends President Mahama for fulfilling his campaign promise to construct 24-hour markets in all constituencies and suggests that the sod cutting for the market, stadium, and airport projects be done concurrently to optimize resources.

The organization believes this approach will not only save costs but also reduce disruptions and enhance project efficiency. Alagumgube looks forward to the President's favorable consideration of their appeal and assures him of their continued support for development initiatives in the Upper East Region.
