Many people think sin started in the Garden. But that’s not fully accurate. Sin did not begin with Adam and Eve. Sin began in heaven.
Ezekiel 28:15 (KJV)
“Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
Lucifer was created perfect but pride was found in him.
Isaiah 14:13–14 (KJV)
“For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven. I will be like the most High.”
Sin began as rebellion in the heart of Lucifer. Before humanity ever fell, there was already rebellion in the spiritual realm. So yes, sin existed.
But it had not yet entered humanity. When God created Adam and Eve, Scripture says:
Genesis 1:31 (KJV)
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”
Creation was good. Humanity was not sinful yet.
Then came the fall.
Genesis 3:6 (KJV)
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat”
And through Adam who God had a covenant with:
Romans 5:12 (KJV)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin”
Sin entered the human race through Adam’s disobedience. So here’s the truth: Sin began with Lucifer’s rebellion. Sin entered humanity through Adam. But redemption came through Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:19 (KJV)
“For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
Where the first Adam failed, the second, whom is Christ, restored. This is why we must understand the origin of sin. It was rebellion in heaven before it was disobedience in the garden. And today, the battle is still the same pride vs obedience.
Choose obedience.
Redemption already won.
Victory is yours.
New Covenant:
Jeremiah 31:33 (KJV)
“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts”
Hebrews 10:16 (KJV)
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.”
So when the Lord instructs you to do something, do not rebel and quench the Holy Spirit.
