The landscape of global excellence recognition shifted significantly this week as the Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Global Awards (formerly SDTA Awards and popularly known as the STAR Awards) officially transitioned into a Sovereign Global Institution.
In a high-stakes move during its Virtual Press
Launch at the Black Star Square, the organization also confirmed a strategic
alliance with energy giant NYMAGX Energy Services Limited (NESL), naming them
the official Gold Sponsor for the 2026 season.
The announcement, timed to coincide with
Ghana’s Independence Day on March 6th, serves as a "Sovereign Salute"
to the nation that has hosted the Academy for the past five years.
Alongside the sponsorship news, the
institution announced a permanent name change: it will now operate globally as
the SDTA Global Awards.
A Convergence of Energy and Excellence
The partnership brings together two entities
defined by rapid expansion and technical authority. NYMAGX Energy Services,
incorporated in 2015 by visionary Engr. Magnus Agara, has evolved from a
disruptive industry competitor into an international infrastructure titan.
With a strategic "Global Bridge"
linking its Nigerian headquarters to a high-performance engineering hub in
Houston, Texas, NYMAGX has become a preferred partner for international energy
firms seeking world-class well services and pipeline construction.
The company’s influence extends into the
downstream sector through ARINZ Energy Products Limited, which operates one of
the largest petrol station networks in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Till date, Engr. Agara’s ventures have
provided a career platform for over 400 graduates, positioning him as a primary
driver of Africa’s "Youth Vanguard."
The 'Year of the 500' Mission
As the Gold Sponsor, NYMAGX is set to provide
the industrial backbone for the Academy’s ambitious "Year of the 500"
mission. This initiative, spearheaded by the Magnus Agara Foundation and
supported by the Supreme Order of Patronage Global (SOPG), aims to transform
500 lives through a series of strategic vehicles:
The Magnus Agara Scholars Fund
The Supreme Emerging 25 (SE25) — an Elevation
Platform: Offering seed grants of GHC 5,000 each to 25 icons, with top
performers securing GHC 50,000 each in Legacy Grants.
The SDTA Global Legacy Foundation: Serving as
the Academy's humanitarian anchor, the SDTA Global Benevolence Foundation
focuses on the intimate, long-term civilizational impact on the lives the
institution empowers.
Leadership Perspectives
Speaking on the alliance, Amb. Zino Lexili
Ogazi, Chairperson of the Board, described the partnership as a masterclass in
global trade. "NYMAGX represents the pinnacle of technical
sovereignty," Ogazi stated. "Their sponsorship confirms that our 5th
Anniversary is powered by the same industrial giants driving the global energy
sector. This is a convergence of global powers."
The Academy’s Vice Chairman, Amb. Cash-Eric
Michael Ogazi echoed these sentiments, noting that Engr. Agara’s journey from
an industry challenger to a sovereign leader mirrors the Academy’s own ascent.
The Road to the Grand Unveil
While the Virtual Pre-Launch is currently
active, anticipation is building for the Grand In-Person Press Launch in Accra.
While the Magnus Agara Foundation (Diamond Sponsor) and NYMAGX (Gold Sponsor)
have been revealed, the Academy noted that an "elite assembly" of
other international patrons remains under the Sovereign Seal, to be unveiled
only at the grand event.
The SDTA Global Awards has already established
a footprint in over 14 nations, including the USA, France, Belgium, India, and
Lebanon.
The
upcoming 5th Anniversary is expected to solidify its mandate across five
pillars:
Diplomacy & Statesmanship
Humanitarian Influence & Social Impact
Creativity & Cultural Sovereignty
Responsible Corporate & Economic Impact
Youth Vanguard & Intellectual Prowess
