NKKT Brands Wins Innovation Award of the Year at GEF 2025

NKKT Brands has won the Innovation Award of the Year for Ecosystem Development and Digital Innovation at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) 2025, marking a significant milestone for Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The award, presented to the company’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nana Kobina Kom Turkson, recognises NKKT Brands’ decade-long contribution to building systems that support entrepreneurs, artisans, and small businesses across Ghana’s informal and emerging economy.

The Global Entrepreneurship Festival, the world’s largest multi-event entrepreneurship gathering, was hosted in Accra for the first time, drawing global leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Nana Kobina Kom Turkson received the award on stage alongside renowned business icons including Sir Sam Jonah and Dr. Ofori Sarpong, underscoring Ghana’s growing influence in enterprise development.

Founded in 2015 with the mission to “Raise Ghanaian Standards, One Brand at a Time,” NKKT Brands has evolved into a comprehensive entrepreneurial support ecosystem. The organisation now focuses on building critical infrastructure that enables local changemakers to access structure, business intelligence, funding, talent, and market opportunities.

The Innovation Award of the Year highlights NKKT Brands’ role in helping Ghanaian businesses formalise, scale, and compete globally through digital innovation and ecosystem development.

Reacting to the recognition, Nana Kobina Kom Turkson described the award as a collective achievement.

“This honour is a reflection of what happens when people are collectively dedicated to a single goal. We dedicate this award to our team, partners, and stakeholders who continue to believe in a future where Ghanaian entrepreneurs can grow without barriers,” he said.

Looking ahead, NKKT Brands says it is committed to expanding its impact across Ghana’s entrepreneurial economy. By 2035, the organisation aims to develop and scale more than 5,000 brands in the informal sector and enable over 50,000 jobs nationwide.

NKKT Brands is Ghana’s leading Entrepreneurial Support Organisation (ESO), integrating brand development, digital transformation, workforce empowerment, funding access, and commerce infrastructure into a unified ecosystem designed to help local businesses grow sustainably.
