Botswana 🇧🇼 has embarked on an ambitious venture to build a multi-billion-dollar "Dubai-style" smart city in the Kalahari Desert.
In February 2025, it reportedly signed an MoU with UK-based Zotus Group to develop Kalahari City, a special economic zone.
Spanning 85 km², the project will feature a 300MW solar plant, fintech hubs, modern transport, and eco-friendly design to boost economic transformation.
