Akufo-Addo more dangerous than Gitmo 2 – Akua Donkor

Nana Akuffo Addo

Founder and Leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Madam Akua Donkor has called on Ghanaians to allay any fears they have of the two ex-Guantanamo Bay detainees and instead fear the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo.

Akua Donkor speaking on Accra-based Neat FM on Friday said that Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby who have been brought into the country are much friendlier than the NPP flagbearer.

“If Ghanaians can live in Ghana with Akufo-Addo, why can’t they live with the detainees…is Nana Addo not more dangerous than them…?,” she quizzed.

The Gitmo two brought into the country by government has led to the building up of tension in the country with several analysts asking the reason for their ‘importation’.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior have all claimed they were not privy to certain aspects of the negotiations between the Ghana Government and the US Government concerning the resettlement of the two in the country.

Ghanaians have therefore impressed upon the Mahama administration to return the duo.

But Akua Donkor insists the calls are unnecessary and have rather entreated them to fear the twice-failed flagbearer of the NPP.

“Nana Addo is a killer. We must rather send him to Guantanamo Bay to campaign to be President there,” she added.

Madam Donkor further commended President John Dramani Mahama for accepting Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby in Ghana for their two-year stay as part of a deal reached between the United States of America and the Government of Ghana.

“President Mahama did the right thing to bring the two detainees here in Ghana. I am really proud of him,” she said.

The GFP leader however urged the Mahama-led government never to hesitate if such offers come from the US to house detainees in Ghana.
