Below is the full statement:

PUBLICATION ON GAF SENDING HELICOPTERS TO HELP FIGHT ISIS IS FALSE

The attention of the Ghana Armed Forces has been drawn to a misleading publication on GhanaCelebrities.Com, claiming that the website has information, purporting that Ghana intends to send six (6) helicopters to Syria to help fight ISIS. This publication is TOTALY FALSE and must be treated with the contempt it deserves.

The Ghana Armed Forces further wishes to draw the attention of GhanaCelebrities.Com’s Managing Editor, whose name is published as Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, that though the publication indicates that the piece was put together by its satirical team, such serious matters bordering on ISIS and international security cannot be toyed with but rather with seriousness and circumspection.

Considering the recent tragic incident in France, such satirical pieces are in bad taste and casts a slur on the country’s international reputation.

Accordingly, the Managing Editor is advised to immediately withdraw the inappropriate publication which seeks to ridicule the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces and the country as a whole.

The Ghana Armed Forces once again wishes to state categorically that the publication placed on the GhanaCelebrities.Com website that Ghana intends to send six (6) helicopters to Syria to help fight ISIS is TOTALY FALSE and therefore urges the general public and readers to disregard it.

MUGABE’S COMMENT ON MAHAMA: SHOULD AFRICAN LEADERS BE SHAMED FOR STANDING BESIDE THE WEST?

President Mahama of Ghana joined the list of African presidents showing sympathy and support for France after the November 13 bombings in Paris. This comes after presidents of Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Algeria among others have done the same. However, African Union Chairman and Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has come out to condemn Mahama, calling him a “disgrace” for issuing the message. He accused Mahama of doing nothing to curb militancy in Nigeria and other countries while he was ECOWAS Chairman.
This is an interesting point raised by President Robert Mugabe who became AU Chairmanin January. After all, the most notable achievement made by the organization so far, was preventing Sudanese President Al Bashir from being arrested by the International Criminal Court to answer to charges of genocide and war-crimes. Resolutions have not been made on how to tackle terrorism in member countries, especially in Nigeria, Kenya, Somalia, that have borne the brunt of terror attacks in Africa.
Terrorism in any part of the world is evil, and as such should be condemned. However, while Mugabe makes a valid argument around African’s prioritising pain in the West over our own- it can’t help but seem that the Zimbabwean leader is playing politics- which is his forte. Surely a leader so critical of expressing condolences of terrorism in the West, would have expressed outrage and support for terrorism in Africa, or perhaps his press secretary forgot to release a statement three times in a row this week?
Robert Mugabe has ruled Zimbabwe for 28 years. He has been credited with leading his people into poverty with his policies. While many are critical of Mugabe for his policy implementation, particularly indigenisation– some of his contentions around Africa’s dynamic with the West are useful and critical. Maybe he should lead by example?

Most Ghana CEOs sleep with their workers – Former UT Bank Boss

Former CEO of the UT Bank, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, has condemned the tendency of some managing directors and chief executive officers in the country to take advantage of their workers sexually.

In an interview on Accra-based Starr FM’s Morning Starr on Friday, Mr Amoabeng said the practice was distasteful, adding that he had personally sacked members of his staff who engaged in amorous relationships.

Mr Amoabeng said: “Do you know that in Ghana, it is almost a norm that a lot of MDs decide that they would sleep with somebody and if the person wants to keep their job, how can they tell their MD or their immediate boss that I won’t allow you and some of them are married but they still take advantage of these things, I don’t want to see any of these things.

“It’s not good and I find that African men, especially tend to exploit the younger female either to get a job, to get promotion or to be appraised or things like that so I don’t encourage it and therefore there is a policy at UT that you don’t have relationships in the company.

“And I have sacked people for going contrary to that…you cannot start a relationship with another staff, if you think you are falling in love with someone then one would have to leave."

In the wide-ranging interview with Starr FM’s Nii Arday Clegg, Mr Amoabeng also revealed that although he is a Christian who believes in God, he does not pay tithes.

Erica Campbell Believes Being Transgender or Gay Is a Sin

After Kirk Franklin made waves last week for saying the Black church was not doing right by the LGBT community, fellow gospel artist Erica Campbell (of Mary Mary) had to get in on the conversation.

Speaking to TeamCurtains.com, the singer took the long way around to homophobia by saying that while she doesn't believe it's her place to judge anyone, the Bible says that being LGBT is a sin. "I believe sin is sin and it exists and God forgives it just like everything else." Wow, must be tough for someone to live their authentic life and be told their very nature is a "sin." But she also has a strategy for how to deal with the sinners: open the church doors to them and "let God do the saving."

“Keep sharing, keep loving, keep opening the doors of our churches, keep embracing and let God do the changing,” Campbell explained. “I think a lot of times we try to be God. We try to make the change. Everybody has an issue. Sometimes people's [issue] is a little more flamboyant than others. Maybe yours is lying and we can’t see your issue. We all have something to work on. My job is to love, not to judge.”

In a 2006 interview with Mary Mary, the singing sisters told Vibe.com of LGBT folks, "They have issues and need someone to encourage them like everybody else — just like the murderer, just like the one full of pride, just like the prostitute — everybody needs God."

They continued, "Hopefully our music is impacting them in a way that if they see there's some things in their life that's not quite right and doesn’t align themselves with what the Bible says — hopefully our music impacts them in a way that makes them want to change it."
Hmm. Sounds like what she means to say is hate the sin, love the sinner, which is not affirming for many LGBT folks in the church.

Video: Kofi Adams unfit to be my 'house boy' – Ken Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong Radio
The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin North Kennedy Agyapong has labeled the national organiser of the National Democratic Congress Kofi Adams as a “cheap boy”, who is unfit to be his “house help”.

The two were engaged in a verbal war on Adom TV's Badwam on Tuesday during a political discussion on President John Mahama’s rally.

The NPP firebrand who was angered by Adams’ comment that he was a drug dealer went ballistic, saying the former spokesperson of former President JJ Rawlings would have been a pauper if not for politics.

“If not for politics a cheap boy like you can't talk to me the way you are talking, fool, you are not even fit to be my house boy… but I don’t blame you, I blame the cheap politics, fool, who are you,” an angry Agyapong said.

Mr. Agyapong dared the ruling NDC government to arrest him if they have any evidence of him dealing in drugs.

“If you people say I deal in drugs why don’t you arrest me, you guys (NDC) have been in power for over six years why don’t you arrest me when you keep saying am a drug dealer.

“A poor teacher like you, if not for politics can you talk to me the way you are talking to me?...foolish man,” Agyapong added.

French billionaire Bollore prepares listing of West African train project, Blueline Read the original article on Theafricareport.com : French billionaire Bollore prepares listing of West African train project, Blueline | West Africa Follow us: @theafricareport on Twitter | theafricareport on Facebook

File photo©ReutersFrench billionaire Vincent Bollore has hired banks to prepare for a Paris listing of his West African train project in the first half of 2016, three sources close to the process said, helping to cover financing costs.
The West Africa rail loop, commonly known as Blueline, will connect Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Niger, Benin, Togo and Nigeria. The project was launched in 2013 and is expected to be completed in the next eight years at an estimated cost of between 2 billion euros ($2.21 billion) and 2.5 billion euros.
we want to be in control and we will definitely provide a significant part of the financing

At least four banks, Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale and Credit Agricole have been mandated to start work for a potential listing, the sources said. The banks declined to comment.
The initial public offering (IPO) could raise up to 500 million euros, a banker familiar with the project said. Other sources, however, said it was too early to give a precise figure as the details on how much cash will be raised and what assets will be included in the listed company have yet to be ironed out.
"We are looking at all possibilities to move forward to put together the right financing. Until now we have always been progressing on our own funds," said Eric Melet, chairman of Bollore Africa Railways, a subsidiary of the Bollore Group. "In any case, we want to be in control and we will definitely provide a significant part of the financing."
Bollore has a history of taking projects to market early in their development. In 2013 he listed electric car battery company Blue Solutions, with the main objective of floating 10 percent of the business being to raise awareness rather than money.
The Bollore group has been present in Africa for more than 50 years and has rail concessions in Cameroon through Camrail, Ivory Coast through Sitarail and was recently awarded one in Benin through Benirail. About 22 percent of last year's group revenue came from African operations.
More than 70 percent of the rail loop's revenue is expected to come from cargo, with the remainder derived from passenger fares.

I won't be distracted by "useless insults" - Mahama

Mahama In Germany 6

President John Mahama has asked critics to stop the insults and resort to constructive criticism adding that he won’t be distracted by “useless insults”.

Speaking at a rally at the Trade Fair Centre as part of his 'changing lives, transforming Ghana' tour of the Greater Accra region Monday, President Mahama said he has been the most insulted president in Ghana’s history.

“Stop the insults,” Mahama said adding “I have been the most insulted, and I think my government has been the most insulted in the history of this county.”

“And every day when you listen to the radio, personal invectives and insults are rained on my person, but like I said, those things are not going to distract me…I have a job to do. I was given a mandate by the people of Ghana and I’m not going to let those useless insults distract me from that mandate”.

President Mahama added that he is, however, not surprised by insults from members of the NPP because of the way they treat their own former President John Kufuor.
