Veteran actor and President of Ghana’s Actors Guild (GAG), Rev. Eddie Coffie, is dead, Viasat1 News Online can confirm.
Rev. Coffie, who is known for his pastoral character in movies, was elected president of GAG, the umbrella body for Ghanaian actors, in October 2014. He took over from Nii Odoi Mensah who had been the guild’s president for several years.
He is deputised by veteran actress, Vivian Achor.
Viasat1 News understands that the family would make a formal announcement of the Reverend’s death later.
Rev. Coffie acted alongside famous movie stars like Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono), Grace Nortey, Victor Lutterodt, David Dontoh, among others.
He will be remembered for his humble character in movies.
