NDC group pushes Otokunor for Ablekuma Central seat

A group calling itself, concerned youth of Ablekuma Central Constituency (CYACC) is pushing for member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor to contest in the party’s primaries in the Ablekuma Central Constituency.
According to them, because the constituency is a swing type, the “NDC risks losing the seat to the NPP if a formidable candidate is not presented to the electorates in 2016″ hence their resolve.
“Our checks with the electorates have indicated that, they need a candidate who will give the opposition candidate a better run for his money. Most party members have openly indicated their desire for an affable, selfless, humble, dedicated, committed, transparent, truthful and above all a unifier to lead them into 2016,” the group added.
They claim their call on Otukunor to contest in the NDC’s primaries is premised on his continues exhibition of leadership qualities.
The group added that Otokunor “has performed par excellence in both his public and private life among his contemporaries. For instance, as JCR president of the Commonwealth hall of the University of Ghana he executed his duties diligently and became the favorite of many in the hall including authorities.”
In a related development, if Otokunor accepts the mantle, he will be facing the incumbent NDC MP, Theophilus Tetteh Chai in the primaries.
