Call him the hottest musician in town at the moment and you may not be far from right.
The Ghanaian "International fisherman" singer, Milla Joseph Odartey Lamptey, famously called Gasmilla has declared Sarkodie's ‘New Guy’ is a no match for his latest single ‘Telemo’.
In a rebuttal to an article with the title “#LetMeExplain: To All the People Who Dislike Sarkodie’s “New Guy”; Please Stick To Gasmilla’s Telemo” placed on Yfm, an Accra based radio station's website, Gasmilla told Hitz FM’s Entertainment This Week's host Mzgee that he finds the comparison of the two song to be frivolous.
“With no disrespect to Sarkodie, I don't understand why people are even comparing the two songs. Telemo is afro beat and his is hip pop so I mean if you should put both of them to a test at any gathering be it a big gathering or small gathering his would be the song people will listen to and mine will be the song people will bump to" he added.
The ‘Telemo’ hit maker alleged that his song is being targeted because it is currently topping all music charts in the country.
He claimed the expectations of many to see Sarkodie's ‘New Guy’ with Acehood outdo ‘Telemo’ on the charts after the unprecedented hype has failed.
"They were thinking Sarkodie’s New guy with Acehood on it would have shot from nothing to number one and it is not doing that yet so I think it is the reason they are comparing it to the biggest song at the moment which is my song Telemo" he said.
