Sarkodie: People Said I Was Hanging Around Shatta Because He Was Hot

Ghana Meets Naijais this Saturday at the Accra International Conference Center and Sarkodie and Shatta Wale are on a media run to promote the gig.

In a latest interview, Sarkdie who just arrived from the US from recording with Ace Hood revealed his relationship with Shatta Wale was deeper than everyone thought;

The New Guy rapper said;

“When people saw me and Shatta moving, they thought I did that because Shatta was popping and that’s why we had the relationship going. But it’s deeper than that.

Shatta Wale continued;

“We go way back, One day my girl was telling me, why don’t you do a song with Sarkodie, he is all over and I told her Sarkodie is like a brother and he was calling me even in the Bandana days. He used to call and wanted someone to push him up and I will let him know I also had nothing.

“And we were sharing ideas and complaining to each other and so when I saw him up, I was very happy because we are in a country where you have to prove yourself to get noticed.”

And on the days I was complaining bitterly to him, as a brother, he encouraged me and motivated me.”
