Accra to have a facelift with completion of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange which is 85% Complete

The Kwame Nkrumah Circle is a key intersection in the arterial road network of Accra. It carries 84,000 vehicles a day.
The objective of the project is to reduce congestion, travel time and vehicle operating cost and thereby stimulate local economic growth.





The Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange is eighty five percent completed. According to the project design, the first of the interchanges will link the Akasanoma to the Nsawam Road around the Vodafone building.
The other interchange will link the Nsawam Road to the Nkrumah Avenue around the Ghana Commercial Bank building, while the third interchange will link Ring Road Central to Ring Road West.

Aside the three -tier interchange, other roads around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle will be improved. The roads will be given asphaltic concrete surface, with pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths.
The 24-months project is expected to be completed this year 2015.
The Construction company Queiroz Galvão are working day and night to get the project completed as scheduled.

Resident Engineer in charge of the project, Kwaku Attakow Diafo disclosed this to Africanspy team in Accra. Mr. Diafo was hopeful work will be completed on schedule.
